Age: 56, female
■Chief complaints: Hip pain, pain behind the knee, numbness in the toes and fingers

Symptoms: For the past year, she had pain in her hip joints and behind the knee when sitting cross-legged, and numbness in her fingers when waking up. She had also had numbness in her toes for the past 18 years, especially at night while sleeping.
Treatment history: She was examined at the hospital, but the cause could not be identified and the condition did not improve.
Treatment course: The second session was one week later, and the third session was one month later.
1st session : Only slight pain remained behind the knee, and the numbness in her hands and other symptoms had resolved.
2nd session : She reported that the area behind the knee felt tight.
Report after one month : All of the main complaints had improved. We checked her muscle balance, explained what to be careful about in daily life, and concluded treatment.
Age: 48, female
Chief complaints: Numbness in both hands and feet, lower back pain, neck pain

Symptoms: Numbness extending from the lower back through the buttocks and down both legs. Gradually, both hands also became numb. She also had pain when straightening her elbows, which made it difficult to grip things. Overall, the condition had gradually worsened over about 18 years.
Treatment history: She underwent examinations and long-term treatment at the hospital, but the pain and numbness did not improve.

Treatment progress: Treatment was performed about once every two days.
1st session : Without touching the knee, treatment focused on the thighs, buttocks, and lower back. Pain in seiza was reduced to about 30 percent. There was no pain when crouching.
2nd session : Pain in seiza was still present. We adjusted the movement of the thighs and shins. He was able to sit in seiza without pain, and because he felt he could play soccer again, treatment was concluded.

Symptoms: Pain in the right knee. Pain when climbing the stairs at school and while sleeping. Lower back pain. Occasional headaches.

1st session : Without touching the knee, treatment focused on the thighs, buttocks, and lower back. There was no pain even when climbing stairs. The lower back pain also resolved.
2nd session : She began to feel pain when going down stairs. We adjusted from the lower back downward, and the pain disappeared. Since she felt the stairs at school would no longer be a problem, treatment was concluded.

Symptoms: For the past eight years, both legs had been numb all day. Her lower back and neck would cramp when lying down to sleep. She had difficulty falling asleep and averaged only two hours of sleep per night. Recently, her symptoms had worsened while caring for her grandchildren.
Treatment history: Hospital treatment produced no change, and even after a CT scan, the cause remained unknown.
Treatment progress: The second session was performed four days later.
1st session : The numbness in the legs and the lower back pain improved. Tightness remained on the right side of the neck. Stretching was recommended.
2nd session : She had not done the stretches she had been shown. Her neck hurt when she bent it backward. After re-examination, we found that muscles in the lower back and side of the body were affecting the neck, adjusted them, confirmed that the neck pain had improved, and concluded treatment.

■Chief complaints: Lower back pain and sciatica

Symptoms: Lower back pain and sciatica. Everything hurt except walking.
Treatment history: She had struggled with the condition for 10 years. A CT scan showed no abnormalities, and hospital treatment did not help.
Treatment process: Only one treatment session was performed.
1st session : We adjusted overall muscle balance throughout the body and also adjusted the hip joint, but there was no marked improvement. After adjusting the sacrum and lumbar vertebrae, the pain disappeared. Self-care exercises were taught, and treatment was concluded.
The young woman who accompanied her made sure to remember the self-care exercises. When someone is in pain, it is easy for them to lose focus, so I think that was a great help to her.
